నీ మాటలకై

వేచి చూస్తానా

ఓ మహా నిశ్శబ్దం

నిరాటంకంగా నిండుకుంటుంది

మౌనం...

ఎంత చిలుం పట్టినా సరే

మాటలకన్నా

Salma is one of the best-known contemporary writers in Tamil. She is the author of several collections of poetry and the critically acclaimed novel Irandaam Jaamangalin Kadai (The Hour Past Midnight). A documentary film about her life, Salma, was recently made by British filmmaker Kim Longinotto.
